Union Jack liveried Class 47 47580 headed Nenta Train Tours’ charter to Newcastle on Saturday June 9th 2012.

County of Essex was repainted into BR Blue with a Union Jack on both sides to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee having previously worn Large Logo livery.

The loco worked both legs of the Norwich to Newcastle tour with West Coast Railways’ 47851 towed dead throughout.

47580 is the Stratford 47 Group’s mainline registered locomotive. It was named County of Essex in June 2008 upon preservation, having carried the name in BR service between 1979 and 1993.

The Stratford 47 Group also own 47367 and 47596 which are based at the North Norfolk Railway and Mid Norfolk Railway respectively.
